Hey guys!

As usual, things have been moving quite slowly in #Botdom. Drama has been kept quite low, which is nice.

Today, I uploaded Terra as a Public Beta, so it is available for download over on wiki page. Check it out and tell me if you have any problems.

In other news, =blazer-flamewing has been updating the Bot Timeline on the wiki. The Bot Timeline shows when bots were being worked on in the past. It can be interesting to see how things change. Unfortunately this doesn't get updated very often, so thanks to =blazer-flamewing for updating things. You can check out the timeline at this wiki page.

We really need some CSS for this page. If anyone would like to try making some CSS for us, make sure to send us a note!

Thanks for reading, I'll try and post updates more often.

Why can't I run a bot in Linux, (Ubuntu 10.04 to be more precise)? I have the php5 program, and the Contra bot for Linux. I followed all the steps on Botdom, but only to realize. . .Linux can not run Executables. Help please?

I'm pretty sure it was like that when I got there :meow:

You have to make the program executable. Right click, properties, permissions and click "allow executing as a program"

It's just a security feature.

Question for you guys - why do none of the bots use libraries/dlls for the language they were programmed in instead of requiring people to install a language?

:iconplaguethenet:
Some languages do not allow this.
Some do.
But redistribution of programs often requires meeting the terms of a licesne, Not to mention that the Size of the download would be dramatically larger. Not to mention that every OS has a different way of executing programs and different directory structures of how they are installed. How would you deal with several OS's and different structures and executables?

Too many variables. Too much work, Much simpler to download the required runtimes.
